Lillian tried to stay up with us last night, and fell asleep next to her mother and little sister, while history was made.
I was honored to have all three of my girls together for this moment that changes everything. The future is uncertain.
For all the excitement, it seems like a very deep and sober moment for our country. But it feels like we are looking at the situation without blinking. I wish my father were here to talk to about Obama, about Kenya, about the changes in our nation.
Godspeed to all our leaders. And on behalf of my daughters, I want to tell them:
"Be kind. Be brave. Work hard. Don't let us down."
